On June 2th - 6th, the XXXVII Symposium on Theoretical Challenges in Small Molecule Dynamics was held at DICP. The symposium was organized by Donghui Zhang (DICP), Keli Han (DICP), and Millard H. Alexander (University of Maryland, USA) as a satellite meeting of the 15th International Congress of Quantum Chemistry (ICQC) held in Beijing the following week. The State Key Laboratory of Molecule Reaction Dynamics and Center for Theoretical and Computational Chemistry at DICP, together with the Telluride Science Research Center (USA), sponsored the satellite meeting.

More than twenty leading researchers in the field of theoretical chemistry from around the world attended the event and presented their latest research findings. Over thirty research staff and graduate students DICP joined the meeting to present and discuss research progress at the Institute. There were many opportunities during the five-day symposium for participants to exchange ideas and foster potential collaborations. The meeting encompassed all areas in theoretical chemistry pertaining to small molecule dynamics, including: dynamics of polyatomic systems, reaction resonance and transient dynamics, state-to-state molecular reaction dynamics, and non-adiabatic effects.
