25 key laboratories of our country relating to the chemistry field have been subjected to an evaluation for the year 2009 by the State Ministry of Science & Technology(MST). Among the assessed key labs, 22 were state key labs and 3 were ministry key labs. The evaluation results have been announced recently. Of these key labs, 4 state key labs were assessed as "excellent", thereof were the two DICP state key labs, namely, the State Key Laboratory of Catalysis and the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Dynamics. The other two excellent state key labs were the State Key Laboratory of Macromolecular Physics & Chemistry(CAS Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry) and the State Key Laboratory of Fine Chemicals(Dalian University of Technology).

Another 2 state key labs, i.e., the State Key Laboratory of Solid Surface Physical Chemistry(Xiamen University) and the State Key Laboratory of Metallo-Organic Chemistry(CAS Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry) have been successively assessed as "excellent" for 3 times in the previous evaluations, so they will keep on as excellent state key labs exempt from evaluation.
