The Workshop, which was a 2009 Fall seminar relating to the Key Research Program of “Probing and Interaction of Single-Quantum States” of the National Natural Science Foundation Commission(NNSFC), was held at the Dalian Holiday Inn from 10th to 13th of November. It was sponsored by the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Dynamics of DICP. Relevant officials and Key Program experts of the NNSFC attended the Workshop, and gave introduction on the orientation and administration of this Key Program. More than 40 experts and scholars participated in the Workshop, and carried out exchanges on their own researches relating to this Program.
The Key Program of “Probing and Interaction of Single-Quantum States” was organized by the NNSFC, and was initiated in early 2009. Its objectives include the opening up and development of new and precise probing methods, the development of methods and techniques for the preparation of high quality quantum structures, and with these approaches, to get more intrinsic understandings on the basic quantum mechanisms of physical, chemical and informational processes on a single quantum state level, and to probe and discover unique quantum effects, so as to establish step by step our own schools with international impacts in this field. Meanwhile, it was hoped that with the progressing of this Key Program, a passel of outstanding young scientists good at experimental science will be nurtured, and a high level research team with a rational age-structure will be established, such that the international position of our country in experimental science will be raised, and science and technology storage for the spanning and sustainable development of our national economy and national defence will be provided.
