Recently, the monograph “Hydrogen Bonding and Transfer in the Excited State”, edited by DICP scientists HAN Keli and ZHAO Guangjiu, has been published by the Wiley Publishing Co. This is the first monograph dealing with studies of hydrogen bonding in the excited state.

The monograph, published in two volumes and having approximately one thousand pages, contained 39 chapters and were written respectively by scientists from the States, Canada, Germany, UK, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and China. The contents of the monograph involved experimental exploration as well as theoretical studies and covered many respects of hydrogen bonding in the excited state, including the structure and kinetics of hydrogen bonding in the excited state for a series of organic and biological molecular systems, the key action and influence of hydrogen bonding in the excited state on various photophysical and photochemical reactions, and the nature and control of hydrogen transfer and proton migration in the excited state.

This monograph was highly evaluated by many prominent scientists, including Prof. Richard N. Zare, Chairman of Chemistry Department of Stanford University, Prof. Donald G. Truhlar, Vice Editor-in-Chief of JACS, and Prof. Wolfgang Domcke, Editor-in-Chief of Chemical Physics.
