This was the 2nd meeting of the 5th Academic Committee of SKLMD, which was held at the Dayshore Hotel of Dalian on 9th November. The meeting was presided over by Prof. ZHENG Lansun (Member of CAS), Chairman of the Academic Committee. Prof. ZHANG Tao, Director of DICP, attended the meeting and bid welcome to the committee members. A total of more than 50 scholars were present in the meeting, including key researchers of the SKLMD.

Prof. YANG Xueming, Director of SKLMD, first reported to the Academic Committee on the development, chief research accomplishments, as well as the research orientation and research plan in the future for SKLMD. Then, written reports presented by each research group of SKLMD on their research directions, status of the researchers, and progresses made in the past year were distributed. Representative scientists of the Laboratory, namely, ZHANG Donghui, HAN Keli, ZHUANG Wei, TANG Zizhao and DENG Weiqiao, also talked about their own investigation achievements attained last year.

The members of the Academic Committee then discussed the reports presented, and posed ideas and proposals on topics of overall arrangement and widening of the research orientation, managing of the laboratory and introducing of talents concerning SKLMD.
