Low-temperature Scanning Tunneling Microscope of Photo-Chemistry on Surface

Key Parameters:

Base Vacuum:  preparation chamber < 2x10-11mbar, stm chamber <4x10-11mbar
System Temperature:  4K-350K
Resolution:  atomic resolution
Drift of tip after retracting:  <100nm

Functions & Applications

The low-temperature scanning tunneling microscope was used to investigate the photo-chemistry reaction on surface or interface of metallic oxide, for example, TiO2(110). The photo chemistry of small molecules such as methanol, water were studied by in-situ STM research. We could observe the chemical process of target molecule by in-situ following in atomic level. Then the process and products could be observed and more dynamical information could be achieved.
